Through the years...

This post is all about my Julie. Julie asked me to be her sponsor for Confirmation before we even found out we were moving to California. We were sitting in the Malco Paradiso before a movie began when J asked me to be her sponsor.  I said absolutely and then months later, we found out we were moving. When I called Julie to tell her, I promised I would be back for Confirmation. Let's go back a few years so you can understand my relationship with this beautiful blonde haired young lady...

I was 19 years old and received a phone call from Angie White saying she got my name from Katelin Walker, the youth director of Holy Rosary, and would like me to tutor her daughter in handwriting.  I agreed and showed up to their house on Sulgrave Drive that summer to meet this blonde haired little girl who was doing flips and couldn't sit still! Her name was Julianna Carol White. Little did I know that years later we would be the best of friends, if not sisters.

Julie and I spent summer after summer together working on school stuff. Then came the day I had to tell her I was moving to Evansville, Indiana to move in with my boyfriend at the time, Adam Hensley.

Here was our last day together in Memphis at Huey's. We both looked so young!

I asked Julie to be my junior bridesmaid when I got married. I remember calling her at camp when I found put I was engaged! On my wedding day Julie was devastated I was getting married. She thought Adam was stealing me away.

Here I am trying to reassure Julie that I love her and am not out of her life forever just before I walk down the aisle.

After much deliberation, Julie came to visit for a whole week! Of course, her mom and dad were on vacation out of the country so she didn't have a choice!

Here Julie and I made homemade pizza that ended up with a flour fight!

Now onto today...

I flew to Memphis from California to be there with Julie on one of the biggest days of her life...Confirmation. If you had asked me years ago if I would have the relationship with Julie like I do today, I would have said there is no way I could have this relationship with someone I barely know. Little did I know how close Julie and I would be years later.

Here is Julie on her Confirmation day. She is beautiful as always!

Here we are together just after Confirmation.

It is crazy to think just how much older we both look from the day we first met. Julie is my best friend, another little sister to me. I can't wait for four years from now when I get the phone call on bid day from the Delta Gamma chapter at the University of Alabama saying Julie will be receiving a bid. Soon we will be sisters not just friends!

I am so proud of Julie and all of the accomplishments she has made. She has been accepted to St. Agnes for next year. I love you, Julie!

WOW! Where to begin?

I have gotten so wrapped up in living the California experience that I haven't written about any of it! Since I last wrote, we hosted a Mardi Gras party, went to San Diego, went to Las Vegas, and still did all of our daily activities that has included meeting lots of new people. All in all, we have been truly blessed since we moved here. Let's do a recap of these events...

Mardi Gras Party
As you can tell, no one went hungry!

No event with this many Delta Gammas can go without a picture.

San Diego was all about rest and relaxation. Now on to Vegas...
We went to the Delmonico for supper. I got this awesome dessert for my birthday!

Now back to being here in California...

We have met tons of new friends out here. I can start listing names upon names of friends who have been the biggest blessings in our life. They all know who they are!!
